After your child has been diagnosed with infantile spasms (IS), your doctor will discuss treatment options with you. The plan you develop together will be focused on meeting the guidelines for success provided by the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and Child Neurology Society (CNS). These are stopping:

The good news is that appropriate treatment has been shown to help children with IS address the immediate spasms and chaotic brain waves of the condition. Your doctor will guide you through all treatment options. He or she will ask you about your child's health, diagnoses, and medications—including all prescription and nonprescription medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements your child is taking.
