Talk to your doctor

Let the discussion guide help you

As the caregiver of a child who may have infantile spasms (IS), your first step toward diagnosis and treatment is a conversation with your child's doctor. Additional conversations will follow.

To help guide your discussion, download the Parent and Doctor Discussion Guide, full of information for you to gather before your visit, as well as questions to ask your doctor in person.

Also, remember to record a video of the movements that make you suspect your child has IS. A video, along with the information recommended in the discussion guide, can help your doctor diagnose IS or investigate another condition.
