Talk to your doctor

Let the discussion guide help you

As the caregiver of a child who may have infantile spasms (IS), your first step toward diagnosis and treatment is a conversation with your child's doctor. Additional conversations will follow.

To help guide your discussion as a parent or a caregiver, download the Doctor Discussion Guide, full of information for you to gather before your visit, as well as questions to ask your doctor in person.

Also, remember to record a video of the movements that make you suspect your child has IS. A video, along with the information recommended in the discussion guide, can help your doctor diagnose IS or investigate another condition.
